Stella's Story

Born for the mountain life.

At just under two years old, Stella was raised in a loving family on a beautiful 30+ acre mountain property. With a fulfilling life ahead of her, tragedy sadly struck with very little warning. Her human mother was air-lifted several hours away and diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. Life shifted suddenly and dramatically for the whole family. With the unexpected discovery that Stella was carrying puppies, the situation became even more complicated. Stella needed to find another loving home quickly. Thankfully, Dr-Vigilante was able to step in with the heart and means to make that happen. Dr-Vigilante is covering all costs associated with care for Stella and her eight adorable puppies, as well as partnering with the Off-Grid Veterinarian to provide necessary veterinary care until they are adopted into their new forever homes. All puppy adoptions will be coordinated through the application process below and donation-based through a Go-Fund-Me account that will go directly to Stella's original family, the Smith's. We thank the Smith's for giving Stella an amazing start in life and our hearts remain with you in this difficult time.

Puppy Package

Each puppy adoption will include the following with a donation to the Go-Fund-Me account benefitting the Smith family.

Puppy Care

Dr-Vigilante has partnered with the Off-Grid Veterinarian to provide each puppy with their first puppy vaccine, deworming, and spay or neuter.

Behavioral Training

You will receive access to an informational video specific to the Great Pyrenees breed.

Veterinary Consultations

Dr-Vigilante is partnering with the Off-Grid Veterinarian to provide unlimited virtual consultations for the life of each puppy adopted.

Get to know Stella + her pups

Great Pyrenees dogs are a working breed that were originally bred in the French Pyrenees Mountains and were used to guard livestock. Stella and her pups all have similar sweet, docile personalities. All nine dogs love people, love affection, love to explore outside, and love cooler temperatures. But each has little quirks that make them all uniquely special and distinct. Meet the dogs that have stolen our hearts!

Kai

Kai found a home! He is no longer available for adoption. With his brown and black markings and his wide, boxy face and stance, this guy looks different from the rest. He is the most independent and was the most comfortable exploring unknown parts of the yard. He has a playful personality and is very affectionate. He likes to nap with his head between the bars on the deck and likes to dip his paw in the water bowl. What a goofy guy!

Napoleon

Napoleon found a home! He is no longer available for adoption.True to his name, Napoleon has shown a strong desire to explore and conquer! He is always eager to go romping through the prairie, woods, or rocks. He's also frequently wrestling his siblings, a misplaced shoe, his momma's leash, or anything else he can get his mouth on. This guy will also melt your heart with his kisses and snuggles!

Brulee

Brulee found a home! She is no longer available for adoption. Named after the French dessert, creme brulee, this little fluff ball is a very sweet girl. She rolls over to get her much loved belly rubs and gets excited to run and explore on walks through the woods.

Frankie

Frankie Fromage is this guy's full name inspired by the creamy, white French cheese. Frankie loves to wrestle the other pups, always looking for someone who wants to grapple with. He is also very affectionate and loves to be pet.

Flint

Flint found a home! He is no longer available for adoption. Flint is such a sweet little guy and is the smallest male of the litter. He covers us with kisses and follows us everywhere outside. He immediately latched onto the 16 yr old lab mix that lives with the Off-Grid Veterinarian and can frequently be found snoozing next to the old dog. Flint loves to be pet and loves to wrestle. He goes crazy over chicken and sardines.

Steel

Steel found a home! He is no longer available for adoption. Steel is the largest and laziest puppy! He slept through most of the puppy brawls the first six weeks of his life, but is starting to get in on the action now. He was the first pup to find and chew on a stick and still enjoys a good stick. When he is awake he is very playful and loves a good snuggle. This guy loves to eat. He howls in frustration if he can't find his food bowl after his long spurts of exerting lots of energy and has frequently fallen asleep in the food bowl.

Paris

Paris is full of fun and a very happy pup. She loves to run, climb over rocks, wrestle big tufts of grass or flowers, cuddle, and explore. If she can get ahold of a shoe, she likes to run off with it, even if it's just about as big as she is! With her black facial markings, she may end up looking most like her momma.

Ali

Ali is the runt and smaller than her brothers and sisters. She is very sweet, loves to give kisses, and likes to cuddle. Possibly because of her size, she does have some insecurities...loud noises can spook her, she did not like to be held for awhile (now she loves it!), and she is very attached to her momma. It would be preferrable if she could go to a home with Stella.

Stella

Sweet Stella loves giving and receiving affection and being told she is a good girl. She takes her job as protector very seriously and will bark at cars, wild animals, and new people. After an introduction, though, she is very friendly. She has even made friends with one of the cats that live with the Off-Grid Veterinarian. Stella seems to be cautious, but not aggressive, towards other dogs.
